Kirt Beasley, a distinguished leader with over 20 years of experience, has served diligently in both the Fulton County Jail and the Fulton County Sheriff's Office. Graduating with a degree in Criminal Justice, she commenced her career as a Deputy in the Fulton County Sheriff's Department back in 1994. Recognized for her leadership prowess, Kirt was elected as the class president for mandate class 95-3, showcasing her exceptional leadership capabilities. Progressing through the ranks, she retired as a Lieutenant Colonel holding the esteemed title of Assistant Chief Jailer, leaving behind a legacy of remarkable achievements and a sterling reputation.

In the summer of 2023, the leadership of the Sheriff’s Office, acknowledging her expertise, sought Kirt's guidance once again, serving as a consultant to tackle the pressing issue of jail population management. Taking charge of the Inmate Advocacy Unit, she spearheaded initiatives that significantly reduced detainee numbers, contributing substantially to the office's objectives.

Upon her retirement, Kirt's compassionate nature and commitment to community well-being prompted her to pursue the role of Fulton County Sheriff in 2024. Motivated by the challenges facing the Fulton County jail, she is determined to address these issues head-on and bring about positive change. With her extensive experience and proven track record, Kirt Beasley is well-equipped to bridge gaps and implement effective solutions that benefit both the incarcerated and the wider community.

MEET YOUR CANDIDATE

Kirt’s commitment to the community extended beyond her official duties. Born in the Mississippi Delta, Kirt Beasley is one of seven siblings. Married to Kenneth Feagins for 18 years, she treasures family, including her two daughters and the joy of being a grandmother to a grandson and granddaughter. Kirt finds delight in being active with her grandchildren and also spending time with them and their pet reptiles.
